Last year I started a new tradition for Valentine’s day, sharing the love for small businesses that I work with and want to show my appreciation for.
Keeping the theme running this year, stay tuned for a showcase of some of the fantastic hardworking small business that I work with, and love.

Alternative Stores
Alternative Stores are an independent, family run vegan health food store and online retailer run entirely by vegans!
Fronted by father-daughter duo Dan John and Zahra, their mission is to make it as easy as possible to lead a cruelty free lifestyle and they’d love to help you on your journey. They sell everything from food, drinks, organics and wholefoods to cruelty free footwear and clothing. Alternative Stores were voted ‘Best Vegan Store’ in the Vegan Awards UK 2017 & 2019.
Little Shop of Vegans
Little Shop of Vegans opened in 2016, back in the days when it was difficult to find oat milk in a supermarket, let alone vegan cheese!
Much has changed in the last 6 years and happily veganism is now more accessible than ever.
They’ve kept up with the times and increased ranges with new products arriving weekly.
They are proud to stock classic vegan brands, such as Violife, Sheese and Vego, alongside many exciting vegan products that you won’t find in a supermarket, such as Plantside Vegan Yorkshire Puddings, I AM NUT OK cheese and Conscious Candy Co ready-bagged Pick n’ Mix.
As a small family business with a big heart, they look forward to welcoming you in store.
Coco’s Pantry
Cocos Pantry is a wholesale chocolate and ingredients company for Chocolatiers, Pastry Chefs, Cake Makers and Bakers.
Their online shop is 100% vegan friendly. They stock the finest chocolate with a huge selection of Callebaut products.
They have a fabulous sweet treats section offering vegan marshmallows – Dandies of course, vegan smarties, vegan honeycomb, fudge and much more!
For snacking and baking their dried fruit, nuts and seeds selection has something for everyone.

Franks Vegan Store
Francesca’s sister called her Frank when she was a kid and it kinda just stuck!
She’s the pink haired gal behind Franks Vegan Store, a plant-based hub, independent, female-led vegan store stocking products from small independent brands with the aim of encouraging more people to live a plant-based lifestyle.
Greencity
Greencity Wholefoods is a wholesaler of fine food and drink based in Glasgow’s vibrant east end.
Greencity operate as a worker co-operative, democratically run by their members, which means all of their 54 staff have a say (and a vote!) in how business is run.
They strive to treat customers, suppliers, the community and their workers with fairness and respect and champion co-operative working as a successful alternative business model.
